A classic Greek comfort food
Ingredients
500 gr of chicken or pork cut in small cubes
100 ml dry white wine
1 green pepper cut in pieces
1 red pepper cut in pieces
2-3 sprigs of fresh thyme (or 1 tbsp if using dried)
1 small sprig of rosemary
1 tbsp of olive oil
½ tbsp of mustard (optional)
1 cup of hot water
Cheese cut in small pieces (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Dry the cubes of chicken or pork thoroughly and season with salt and pepper.
2. In a deep pan, add the olive oil, once heated up add the meat bites and brown for a couple of minutes (add the meat in batches so it browns well)
Add the cut peppers
3. Add in the wine and cook until it almost evaporates
4. Stir the mustard in a cup of hot water and add it to the pan
5. Throw in the herbs, bring to the boil and then lower to a simmer.
6. When almost ready add the cheese and stir (It needs approximately 15 minutes, with the lid on)
7. Serve with rice or French fries
